The new Victoria Falls International Airport terminal officially opened to passengers on December 2. It will accommodate 1,5 million passengers a year, confirmed airport manager, Ronnie Masawi.
Ronnie said Air Zimbabwe, SAA, BA Comair, flyafrica and fastjet were currently operating to the airport.
Qatar Airways is also expected to launch flights.
Ross Kennedy, Atta chairman and chief executive of Africa Albida, said the terminal was now open for international and regional tourists and said he believed when international airlines started flying to the airport, airlift into Vic Falls by long-haul carriers would increase, creating major positive change. “Geographically, Vic Falls is a hub point for international tourists and the airport will add convenience by offering direct flights.”
